Easter

<lj-embed id="1" />

For Easter we had Eric in the morning and afternoon. We took him to church then we came home to Easter outfits and Easter Baskets with toys. (An Easter book, windmills, squirt guns, bubbles, and a chicken that laid bubble gum eggs.) We went through playing with everything and taking pictures. We went on our Easter Egg Hunt. Then we had dinner and it was time to get ready to go back home. Our day flew by, but we all had a great time! :)

Mission Reunions and General Conference

Good Sunday morning ya'll!

You may not believe it but, I am still alive and kicking. I'm still as busy as ever, but I thought I'd write so I can at least say I wrote something for the month of April.

Friday was my mission reunion and it brought me back to the times when life was relatively "easier." I say easier because missions are hard work and sometimes they can get hard emotionally as well as physically. The easy part about it for me was that I was on my own. I didn't have my family breathing down my back making stupid comments of "everything I do wrong."

I knew what work needed to be done and I did it. I worked hard and played hard. I went to bed and got up at the same time every day,, which is actually very healthy. I exercised every day and read my scriptures every day. I even talked to new people who I had never met before every day. I guess it helped that I was speaking German because my personality in English is a lot different. I can honestly say that I didn't really know that much about missionary work until I went on my mission.

At my reunion, the first people we saw were my old Mission President Kopischke, now an area 70 for Europe, and his wife. I introduced them to Brent and it was good to see that they were still doing well. i hadn't seen them in two years! They were such a great example to me of how a family should treat its members in everything they do.

President Kopischke talked about an experience he had at a meeting he recently went to. All of the Seventy were a half an hour early to this meeting that was scheduled to begin at 8:00. They were sitting, listening to the prelude music that Bruce C. Hafen was playing on the organ. 15 minutes went by. 20 minutes went by, and he said that he could tell that Elder Uchtdorf and Elder Eyring both looked a little nervous. 25 minutes went by. It was 5 minutes until the meeting was supposed to begin when Elder Uchtdorf stood up and said that they should be sitting and enjoying the beautiful prelude music that Elder Hafen was playing, which they had been for 25 minutes. 5 more minutes passed by and now it was 8:00 and time for the meeting to begin. 8:05...8:10...and President Monson comes in and begins speaking right away.

He said to them, "You may notice that I'm a little late." He said, "My wife was not feeling well this morning and I wanted to make sure she was ok before I came."

My President said that in that moment President Monson taught everyone where their priorities should be focused. He said, "Here was the President of the church who had hundreds of people waiting for him, and he was taking care of his wife first to make sure that she was well enough for him to go to the meeting."

I saw some old companions and introduced them to my fiance', Brent. I love saying that I have a fiance' instead of boyfriend! It makes me happy. :) Then, right as we were about to leave, Mike Lesner, one of the members who taught me a lot about member missionary work came over to us. I was so surprised to see him because I hadn't seen him in about 3 years.

I gave him a big hug. He laughed and said, "It's weird giving old Sisters a hug because we weren't allowed to on the mission."

I said, "Sorry, but I haven't seen you forever and now I can give you a hug."

He was wearing a suit with lots of pockets and in every pocket he had German Chocolate candy bars! He gave me a handful of them and said, "Shhh" as he put his finger to his lips smiling. This was something that he did on the mission. He loved helping the sisters to find people to teach and he loved coming to appointments. When he would come he would always bring something to give us and we were so thankful to have such a generous person in our midst as missionaries who didn't have much. Well, we didn't need much, but it was fun when members did things like that for us. We weren't expecting it or anything, they just did stuff like that and we were so grateful for them. It just showed how much they cared about us and always made it harder when it was time to leave because it's easier to make friends with people who genuinely care about your well-being.

I introduced him to Brent and we spoke to each other in German as I tried to translate what we were saying. I was so excited to see him that I almost didn't know what to say. We talked about what was going on in our lives now. He said he was staying for a month and we exchanged our information, because I lost all of my contacts from my mission when my books were lost in the mail, before Brent and I left.

There will always be some members and some missionaries who I may not see again until I die, but the memories that we made together will always be with me wherever I go. Yeah, just writing that made me cry. I can be such a baby sometimes, but that's how much I loved my mission. I miss seeing everyone. There were so many people that I wish I could hang out with again, but they are in other countries. Thank goodness for things like facebook! I can stay connected with them through that, but it's not the same. I miss playing cricket and soccer as a district and with some of the members. I miss Leipzig.

I miss Berlin, and I miss Germany. I miss the places that I travel to where ever I go and I miss the place where I call home. Although when ever I go to a new place, that place becomes home to me as well. I miss the people and places from it. I know they say, "It's a small world," and I would agree for the most part, (people have so many connections with each other it's crazy!) but then again the world is a big place (speaking in terms of land). I just wish that traveling didn't have to be so expensive or I would do it all of the time. I would love to see Germany, England, Greece, Italy, Spain, Japan, China, India, and lots of other places too. Maybe one day when I'm rich and famous...

Today is the last day for General Conference for the Spring session. I loved the first talk on the first day about Prominent Living. I needed to hear that talk! I loved listening to all of the talks that I have heard so far, but I think that one has been my favorite of all of them since we are living in tough times that the prophets have prophesied would come. Are we ready for them? Maybe this is our wake-up call to get ready if we weren't prepared for this hard economic time period that we are all living in. In any case, one of our showers is going to be a grocery/food storage shower. Brent and I both thought it would be a good idea. Maybe it will save us a trip to the grocery store for the first month. :)

Well, the last session of General Conference is about to begin. So, I'd better go.

Until next time. Don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Love,

Tiffany

We need your addresses!

Hi everyone!

If you have already given us your address you can ignore this. If you haven't yet, please get us your address soon so we can make sure to get an invitation to you. We are making them ourselves, maybe even next week over spring break so ASAP would be preferable. Don't worry though, we won't send them for awhile. We just need to start getting them ready. Also if you could leave if you can come to the reception or not, that would be helpful for helping us plan on how much food we'll need.

Thanks for all of your help,

Tiffany and Brent

How Brent Proposed. I'm Engaged!

I'm in love and my head is spinning right now! Brent just proposed to me about an hour and a half ago. I knew he was up to something the whole day by the conversation we had had in the morning. He said that he had a surprise for me tonight and that I should dress nice because he was going to be wearing a tie. (Previously I had told him to somehow hint to wear something nice when he was going to ask me. So, I thought he might ask me, but then again he did say that he was going to ask me sometime in the spring...)

Then he asked to speak to my mom who in turn handed my phone to my dad to talk to Brent. He doesn't normally ask to speak to both of my parents so I thought, "Is he really going to ask me?..."

I was nervous all day. I even watched Legally Blond just to hear her say, "I want something bridal, but not like I'm expecting anything..." I also wanted to see the end where it says that her boyfriend is proposing to her tonight. When I talked to Brent throughout the day he sounded different. I guess he was a little nervous too...

I got ready for the day. I put make-up on, fixed my hair, and wore a nice dark purple blouse and a knee-length black skirt. I even wore a heart-locket that I got at my friend Jessica's wedding as a gift and earrings.

It was my cousin Jenny's baby shower. So, I went to that with my mom and sister. I told my sister that I thought Brent was going to propose tonight. She said, "No, I know which day he is planning on and showed me on her phone's calendar." My mom whispered something in my aunt's ear when we were leaving. Which made me wonder some more about if he was going to ask me tonight.

We drove home and he called. My mom answered my phone because I was driving. Brent said, "Hello my darlin'!" Thinking it was me. My mom said, "I'm your new darlin'?" and we all burst out laughing. Brent talked to my sister too, and said, "Hello, my darlin'" to her too as a joke between us. Eventually my sister put my phone on speaker phone so I could talk to him too. Brent said that he was excited to see me tonight and I said I couldn't wait to see him either. He was also on his way to my house. He had just gotten off of work.

We arrived at my house and I tried to eat a piece of pizza, but my mom said that I shouldn't because Brent was taking me out to eat somewhere. Brent showed up about five minutes after we came home. He asked if I was ready. I said yes. I had had a feeling that I should take my camera with me all day long, but I didn't. I figured that my phone had a camera on it if I really needed to take a picture.

We left. Brent was dressed in a white shirt and the red, black and silver striped tie he got for Christmas. (I love that tie on him!) He had on black slacks as well. He walked me to where his car was parked and opened my door.

He drove down 700 East to 9000 South then turned left on 9000 and passed State Street. He turned into a place with a Burger King and a Sizzler. At first, we saw a Burger King and I jokingly said, "Oh, is this where we're going?" Brent jokingly drove over by the Burger King and said, "Yep," then he said, "No, I'm just kidding, we're going to Sizzler." He drove over to Sizzler and parked.

He opened my door and I thanked him and ran as fast as I could to wait at the door because it was raining. (This was good rain though because it was cleaning the dirty air that Salt Lake had had for a week.) He locked the doors and came a minute later. He opened the doors and we waited in line. Looking into each others eyes and saying how much we loved each other. (I'm sure the people around us either thought it was cute or disgusting, but who cares when you're in love?)

We ordered our dinner when we reached the front of the line. He got a House Cut Steak with Dr. Pepper to drink and I got Malibu Chicken with a side of rice and strawberry lemonade to drink. We both got a salad bar as well.

Brent was acting kind of weird the whole day, and so were my family members, so I kind of knew or at least thought that he was going to propose. He talked to our server when he went to the bathroom. Then he came back and said that there were all of these kids in the bathroom and he would just go again when it wasn't so crowded.

We ate our food and the server gave me a potato instead of the rice that I had ordered. I told her that. I actually thought that she might have done that on purpose and that I would find the ring in the rice. Thank goodness I didn't find it there!

We got to the point where dinner was finished and he went to the bathroom again. He talked to the server again and I was sitting there thinking ok something is definitely up. He came back and started getting salad from the salad bar. I guess so that he didn't look so "suspicious."

I was just sitting there watching him when the server girl came over to our table with a big shake that she put in front of me (to obviously distract me) while another server girl put a plate covered in chocolate syrup that said, "Will You Marry Me?" on it. It also had whipped cream at the bottom and the ring in the middle. She said, "Enjoy your dessert!" with a smile and left.

I looked up and saw the plate and about freaked out! I looked back to where Brent had been and all of a sudden he was there at the table. He said, "What do you think?" I just smiled and said, "I knew you were going to do this! You've been acting weird all day!" He said, "Stand up! Stand up! Stand up!" I did. Then he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?"

It all happened so fast that I can't remember if I actually said "Yes" right then, but Brent said that I did. I just remember kissing him! He said that people were clapping and that one guy gave him a thumbs up sign, but I didn't notice any of them. I just noticed him!

We sat down and ate our dessert on the house together. Then we called our parents and told them the news. My mom said, "Well, did you answer him?" I looked up and said, "I can't remember? Did I answer you?" I went over to him and said, "If I didn't, it was because I was kind of in a shock and my answer is yes. Then I kissed him a few times again."

After that we proceeded to try to call everyone and let them know that our engagement was now official. Brent asked the server if he could buy the plate! She said that we could have it. We took it and went back to my parent's house to show them the ring.

It's funny because Brent "practiced" asking me several times before he actually did the real thing, but I guess I just wasn't ready for all the shock that went along with the real deal! That's why I'm glad I made sure to let him know my answer was yes.

After we showed my family, we headed up to Emily and Sean's house to celebrate with brownies and ice cream. I told her the whole story of the day and we talked about the wedding and things well into the night. Then, we went home.

I'm so excited! I can't stop looking at my ring. It's kind of weird because I'm not used to wearing rings on my fingers, but I'll get used to it! :) I'm engaged to a wonderful guy and I love it! I can't wait to marry him!

Well, that's all for now. I'll try to write again soon.

Love,

The newly engaged Tiffany Angelle Garner
The New Draper Temple

Hello everyone! Long time no write. Sorry about that! So, Brent's mom talked to the people at the Salt Lake Temple to see when it was open for our wedding date. She said that it's closed for two weeks in July for cleaning, and one of those weeks happens to be the one that we chose to get married on. So, we decided to be pioneers as you might say and change our location to the new Draper Temple instead. That actually works out better with the reception with the gazebo and all. So, we'll take it! :) My mom was complaining that there won't be anywhere to take pictures up there, but I said that there will be. We'll make it happen. Besides, everyone's wedding pictures are different. We don't necessarily have to have a fountain anyway.

Brent now has my ring in his possession... and he's getting ready to ask me a big question soon! ;) I can't wait! Don't worry, I'll write all about it when it happens.

We are also making our own invitations. Why pay $800 for 100 invitations when I could find some for $15.00 for 100 at the store to make by myself? I think that's a way better deal! I bought three and I'll have to see if I need more later.

Brent and I ate at Spaghetti Mama's at Jordan Commons for lunch today. It was delicious and we are thinking of having the wedding luncheon there.

Yeah for having enough time to plan a wedding! Well, I hope it's enough time! I still haven't made my mind up for a few things, but I'm working on it. I have to run. The stores are only open for so long.

Love and miss you all,

Tiffany

I have been tagged!

* 1. Post these rules.
* 2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about themselves on their journal.
* 3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people.
* 4. No tag-backs.

1. My name is Tiffany Angelle Garner. I live in Utah. I have one brother named Jonathan and one sister named Andrea. I am the oldest child in my family. I have a boyfriend named Brent Matthew Lindsey. He comes from a family of fourteen. He is number 12 in his family. Brent and I are planning to get married on July 8, 2009. I think it's cool because it's 07/08/09. Plus, we met in July. So, it is only fitting.

2. I like arts and crafts, music, writing stories/poetry/journal entries etc. I love writing just about anything, dancing (especially swing dancing), reading, singing, sewing, spending time with friends and family, scrap booking, taking pictures. Basically, these are the things I would do all the time if I could. I would love to get paid to do any of those things, but I'm sure it wouldn't be enough to live off of. Those poor starving artists... Why do sports people, politicians, and Hollywood get all of the money?

3. I speak German. I'll prove it with a few sentences. Wie gehts? Es geht mir gut. Ich mag Kaisebrotschen. Es ist sehr lecher! Deiner Hund ist an feur? Schnel! Schnel! Wasser bitte! Wo ist die Toilette? Es ist dort druben. Auch so! Oh, meine Gute! Wie spat ist es? Ich muss leider loss gehen. Ich muss die fragen immernoch antworten. Bis spater! :)

4. I love love stories. Here's mine: I met Brent on a nice warm summer night. I was on a blind date with one of his friends. It was kind of an awkward, but memorable, blind date because we met at a wedding reception. After that we went to change out of our clothes into normal street clothes. Then, we went to the store to find a frisbee and my date stocked up on his deodorant and bread while we were there. As we were driving back to his apartment, he got a phone call from Brent asking if he wanted to hang out later that night. Shon, my date said that he was on a date and Brent said that he didn't want to inturrupt his friend's date. Shon turned and asked me if it would be ok if his friend came to hang out with us on our date. I said that would be fine. (After all, we had already met at a wedding reception and stocked up on deodorant. What else could make this date more memorable?) Then we went back to his apartment where he got out some stilts that he uses for painting at work. We put them in the back of his truck and went to walk on them at Liberty Park. We went by this wall near the tennis place to try the stilts on. My date held my hand until I could walk by myself. After trying them out for awhile and walking by myself, Brent showed up. I took the stilts off and helped him try them on while Shon tried on the really tall ones. I held Brent's hand, like Shon had for me, and thought nothing of it. After walking for awhile, a drunk guy came up behind us in a golf cart. To be honest, he scared me a little. He said he had been working for 11 hours and the park closes at 10:30pm for pretty girls 11:00pm for the rest of us. Then he left after he had walked with us a little.

5. I am currently going to school at the University of Utah. Go Utes! I also got my very first ever 4.0 in my life last spring semester. That made my GPA go up to a 3.6 and I guess it made me one of the top 15% in my class for one of my majors so I got to join a thing called Golden Key International. I hope that helps me out when I'm looking for a new job! :)

6. I am double majoring with International Studies and Human Development and Family Studies.

7. I am currently working as a tutor for reading and math at an elementary school. I love my job! Sadly, it will be ending in May and I'll have to get a full time job. I hope I can find a good one.

8. I love to have fun and getting to know people is great.

Now it's your turn!
adalanne elucreh forlornsamurai gryfindormia I need more friends.
Teacher Work Days Are The Best! Here's what's been going on.

Hi guys!

I know it's been forever since I've written. I told you I'm sometimes good at this and sometimes bad at it. I am alive, don't worry. :) I'm only on here because I don't have to go to work. Yeah for teacher work days. :) Well, technically I still have to go to my training, but that's later in the day. Until then, I'll write about what's been going on.

I started work and school. I work as a tutor at a school called Lincoln Elementary School in Salt Lake. It's a title one school which means they get government paid school lunch because they most likely don't have enough money in their families as it is. A lot of the kids are refugees. They are survivors who have been through a lot. I tutor the kids mostly with reading. I also help in a teacher's math class, and after school I'm helping to start an after school pilot program called tennis and tutoring. (That's a good resume' builder.) Basically, the kids get to learn a skill, tennis from an instructor. Then they come to our building and we help them with their homework. I love my job! I think this is one of the first times that I can honestly say that.

As for school, I have 15 credit hours, 17 if you count Institute. I'm taking a comparative literature class Mon./Wed. called the fairytale. I really like it, but be warned if you take it, it is a lot of reading. I have Family Economics on Monday nights. It's like a personal finance class. I really like it. On Wednesday nights I have International Economics. Tues./Thurs. mornings I have a cultural German class and a fatherhood class, I took that one mostly for Brent and Eric. I'm double majoring too, so that counts toward my second major.

Brent and I were talking the other night and we decided to change the date of our wedding to July 8, 2009. It will give us a month longer to get stuff ready. I was just thinking that with my job ending at the end of April/beginning of May, it would give me a little bit more time to get established in my full time job. Yeah, I have to find my full time job first... I don't know what I should do, but I know I have to have a job. If I'm not done with school by then, I think I'll go part time until I'm done. I have to talk to my counselor. (I finally got an appointment with her for next week. Holy Cow that took forever! I'm glad I got an appointment because she is leaving for maternity leave soon and then I would have to wait another two or three months.) I don't know exactly how much more I have to do. I know I get 16 German Credit hours somehow. I need to find out how I do that...

This is Eric and me at the lake by where Brent's family goes camping every August before school starts. American Fork Canyon.

I don't think I posted about him yet, but Brent is divorced and has a son named Eric. Brent didn't want a divorce, and tried to work on their marriage, but she didn't want to work on it. She just became really distant and they fought a lot Brent said. They separated and then she sent him divorce papers.

Sorry, but we didn't want to tell anyone at first until they got to know Brent first without judging him because he is divorced. So, I guess I just kind of waited until Brent felt comfortable enough to tell people. I told him that it's not a big deal to me, and that's really all that matters is what I think, not what everyone else thinks. Anyway, Eric is so cute! He just turned 3 in July. I've posted some pics of him on my www.facebook.com account.

Here's another one though:

This is Eric in his car seat.

This is us at the International Peace Gardens trying to take a pic. in the bright sun.

In other news, I got my very own printer/scanner/fax machine last week. :) You have to love Walmart. It was only sixty something dollars while the others were a few hundred. It's also a good quality machine.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should put on my birthday/Christmas wish list? I was thinking of putting stuff for the wedding, but what should I put? Any suggestions let me know.

Well, I have to get ready for training now. I will try to find time to write again.

Love you all,

Tiffany

Tired.

Hello. It's been awhile since I've last written. I just started school and work. (Work last Friday and school on Monday.) I just started and I'm already really tired. I guess that's what happens when you have two weeks to play. I'm taking 15 credit hours of school and 20 hours of work. Add homework and a boyfriend and I'm set. My entire day is spent. By the time my head hits the pillow I should be out, but I need a new mattress for my bed. Every time I lay down on my mattress I feel the springs in my back. I can wait until I get one with someone else, if you catch my drift, but until then ouch!

Wedding Reception Site?

It's not $2000 or more to rent. It's in a good location. It has a two outlets for electricity so I could plug my stereo in and some white lights for atmosphere. It's romantic. I think of The sound of music and Germany, even though it was Austria... I know, but they speak German there... Anyway, I like it. This is a definite maybe.... I still have to ask Brent, but I'm sure he'll be ok with it if I like it and it's not too much money. :)

Wedding Reception Sites and Colors.

I've been thinking about the future today... I've been researching places where I could possibly hold my reception. Why do they all have to be $2000 or more for a Friday night?! I think that's ridiculous! I've been thinking that I want to have it outside somewhere, but unless you have some high up there connections with someone with a beautiful backyard... I'm working on it, but so far I've got nothing.

I was also thinking that "simple is best." So, I've decided to tweak with what I want everyone to wear. Not too much mind you, but enough to be different from what I was going to do before. I got to thinking that I kind of like a plain neutral color like black, gray, tan, or cream with an accented bright color... Think Skittles or look at the Olympics they have bright colors... Now, here's the fun part. The guys will have neutral color suits and bright colored ties. I'm still thinking bright blue for the best man, not turquoise but blue I don't know how to explain it other than think of Hawaii/the beach and the bright blue you would see there. Then Lime green and purple ties for the groomsmen. White shirts for everyone. I hope that they're ok with that. For the maid and matron of honor I was thinking black, gray, tan, or cream dresses with some kind of sash-like a ribbon type thing tied around the waist or the color accenting the dress in some way I even thought maybe a type of evening gown shawl thing might look cool? I don't know, I think I'll ask everyone what they think first. For the maid and matron of honor the color is red. For the other bridesmaids the colors are bright yellow and a bright orange like tangerine. I think I still want a v-neck for the dresses. Just as long as they all fit everyone, I'll be happy.

So, basically, the only thing that I have changed if you think about it is going from all the dresses a solid color of red, orange, and yellow to neutral colors with accenting ribbon colors. I like that a lot better than what I was thinking before. Questions? Comments? I'm doing a Hawaiian/beach theme. Which neutral color do you think is best?

Here are some pictures I took for a few ideas, they aren't the best quality and not what I want, but it's a start for ideas:

If you could invent one thing and make it a reality, what would it be? Why?

A machine that could send people wherever they wanted to go. For example, they could go anywhere in the world or anywhere in time. This machine would be good for the environment as well. I love traveling, history, and taking care of the earth.

You Tube, CD's, Cell Phones, and Technology. What is the world coming to?

So, I was thinking today that I have watched a lot of You Tube music videos and other videos for that matter in the last year that I have been home from my mission. Before my mission You Tube didn't even exist. Now it does. Here's what I think is funny though. As much as I have watched things on You Tube, I have never posted a video there. How does one go about doing that? I'm not so tech savvy as a lot of other people are now a days. Granted, I missed a year and a half of goings on in the technical world, but that shouldn't make such a big difference.

I still listen to CD's. I hope that's not against the cool technology craze. Although, I'm beginning to start to think that it is. Everyone is now carrying around ipod whatevers where ever they go. Umm.... should I get one of those too? I don't even know which kind is good. All I know is that it stores a lot of music. I have heard that some store video stuff too, but I think they are all different. Like cell phones are all different.

I finally got a cell phone for the first time in my life on May first. (May day. Yes, I did that on purpose so I could make a joke! May day! May day! I'm getting a cell phone! That's what I said, yes I know... I guess you had to be there to laugh if you don't think it's that funny.) I just learned how to work the alarm clock on it a couple of weeks ago and I was overjoyed to find out where my calendar is on it. So, I'm slowly but surely getting back into the technology craze. It took me awhile to learn how to text, but I'm getting that. I may not be as fast as some of the younger Pepsi generation, but I know how to do it at least. That's better than when I first got it.

Right now I have T Mobile. My boyfriend has Sprint. Which is better? They both have free night and weekend minutes and Mobile to Mobile or Sprint to Sprint calling. Since I just got mine, I have a two year contract and can't change it. That kind of stinks how they get you like that... He has I think another year or so before his contract is up. We decided to get our own plan when we get married, but until then I guess we just try to talk nights and weekends for free. It kind of stinks because I have unlimited texting and he doesn't. So, I don't know how many texts he has already and I don't want him to go over his 300 texts.

I don't know about you, but don't cell phones add to your stress level quite a bit? Part of the reason why it took me so long to get a cell phone was because I don't really like talking on the phone all that much. I mean, I'll do it, but I would much rather talk to someone in person. Secondly, to me, a cell phone can be like a leash for a dog. Everyone always knows where you are and can always get a hold of you. I didn't like that either. Whatever happened to privacy? Anyway, I finally gave in and got one because of the argument that cell phones are good tor safety reasons....

Still, I have to admit that there are times when I deliberately leave my cell phone at home on my dresser so I don't have to talk to people. I don't do it all of the time and I don't always do it deliberately, but there are some times when I do. I hope that doesn't offend anyone who is trying to get a hold of me.... call my house phone if I don't answer and you really want to get in touch with me is what I would say to that. If I'm not there, well then I'm off having a good time or just want to be left alone for the time being. Leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. It's not personal by any means. It's just that privacy can be such a nice thing sometimes and it seems to be getting scarcer and scarcer.

So, here's the big question that crossed my mind and I decided to write about it to make me tired so I can go to sleep. Otherwise, I'll be up all night thinking about it. What is the world coming to with technology? Is there ever enough or will there always be something that needs an upgrade? We had to get something for our TV because the "regular" TV is going to be going off the air in February. I wonder what will happen then? I just hope the thing works. I guess if it doesn't I can stick to books for entertainment. I kind of do that now because there really isn't anything good on anymore.

Has anyone else noticed that? Everything is starting to get pretty dirty on TV. I know they make a V-chip thing for parental control, but like I said before I'm not the best with all of this technology stuff right now. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that to make it work. Why don't they just put the chip for parents who want to watch that garbage and they can be the ones who has to type in the control to get it to work? That would block a lot of that garbage anyway.

Well, I'm off to bed. It's late, and I'm now officially tired and hitting the hay as they say. I'll write again soon.

Bis spater! (Until Later)

~Tiffany

What kind of birthmark do you have?

What kind of birthmark do you have? How does it look? If you don't have one already, what kind of birthmark would you like to have?

It's not the best picture, but this is my birthmark. Yes, I know, this is kind of random, but you were probably getting sick of hearing about all of that mushy stuff. So, I thought I'd talk about something completely random for a change. My birthmark looks like an upside down heart to me. It is located about two inches from my kneecap. I've had it ever since I can remember. I kind of like it too. How many people do you know with an upside down heart shaped birthmark anyway? I think it is one of those things that makes me physically unique and different. I don't think I'd trade my birthmark for a different one. I don't know what other kind of birthmark I would have if I could choose a different one. I just like mine the way it is.

I love surprises!

Just to let you know, every entry in here is not going to be about Brent and me. That just happens to be a major part of my life right now. So, I thought I'd share some of our really fun dates. I promise to add more entries that have much to do about nothing. I do have a separate journal where I write about Brent and me in case you were wondering. I don't know, I just thought it would be kind of boring to read every single date we ever go on/hang out time etc. So, enjoy the ones I do put in here, because they are some of the more "memorable" dates in my book. :)

Wednesday 6 August, Tonight Brent came over. He gave me a card telling me how much he appreciates me and everything that I do. He also gave me a red rose. For the record, if anyone is keeping tabs I don't know, this is the second rose that he has given to me. Please note the color. Red, which means love in the flower world. I love it when he surprises me like that! I couldn't stop kissing and hugging him I was so excited and happy to see him. :)

He got a hair cut today, which I was thinking of getting one too. How funny is that? Well, actually I was thinking about getting a trim, but it's the same kind of idea right? I was running around with errands so I'll have to get a trim another day when life isn't so hectic. I swear, you loose your job and get time off from school for two weeks and it seems like life just doesn't slow down. There is still so much to do.

Anyway, back to my story. So, I told Brent that I would make him dinner. We had fish sticks, French fries, corn, and coleslaw. Oh, and to drink we had smoothies. Seriously, I need to get more creative! I'm sure it will be different when I get to buy all of the food and plan meals, but right now food at my house is kind of boring like that. It could also just be my attitude. I'm sure I could come up with something if I thought about it. I'm really getting sick of the "re-heated food." (Like she says on No Reservations. Great movie! Watch it if you haven't seen it and love food!)

After dinner we talked with my mom for awhile. Then we went to get our tickets for Batman. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a must see if I do say so myself. It's a little scary, but it's really good! We had a little time to burn, so we went to get ice cream across the street at this new place called Scoopology. We got strawberry ice cream, pineapple sorbet and raspberries on top. Yes, we shared it because we're cute or gross like that, however you want to see it is up to you. Ok, so we are also trying to save some money. Can you blame us? Just look at our crashing economy and tell me that you aren't worried too. We went to the movie and after words he dropped me off at home. We kissed each other goodnight and he went home. Yeah, that was one of those dates that I really didn't want to end. I love spending time with Brent.

Time Capsule

You are allowed to place three items from your lifetime into a box that will be opened in fifty years. What do you put in, and why?

The first item I would put in would be my journal...one that I wrote in of course. That way people would know more about my personality and what some of the things were that I went through.

The second item I would put in the box would be pictures/a video/DVD of normal every day life how it is when we are making the time capsule. Think about anthropologists. I'm sure they would kill for pictures from the time period they were studying.

The third item that I would put in would be the different types of currency from all of the different countries of the world with a chart that showed how much they were all considered to be worth and also the price of gas. I wonder if they would still be using gas or if they would have found an alternative energy resource to use by then.

How Brent and I met.

In this picture, Brent and I were practicing a dip for swing dancing.

Brent and I met through a bind date that I went on. It's kind of a crazy story! He was my blind date Shon's friend and called up and asked if he could come hang out. Shon asked me if that was ok and I said sure. So, he came and joined us. We were walking on stilts in the park and as Brent was learning how to walk on the stilts I held his hand so he wouldn't fall. (Smooth move! That I didn't think anything of! lol!) We went to another friend Brook Burningham's bridal shower BBQ at my friends Emily and Sean Page's house up there and later Brent asked Shon, my date, for my number.

It kind of went from there. I had met him before when one of my friends Dan was working at Dan's Foods. Brent had also worked there, but nothing happened until this blind date I went on. :) Thank you Brook Walters for setting Shon Jessee and me up on that blind date, and thank you Shon for giving Brent my number!

Thank goodness God knows what he's doing. I think he laughed at how he had to plan on getting us together. Yeah, we started "officially" going out on the 3rd/4th of July. It was on a date that started on the 3rd, but by the time it came to us deciding to go out it was past midnight so it was the 4th. However you want to look at it.

Here's some more details of our date. We had a date on the 3rd that started with a BBQ then we went swimming. After that we went swing dancing at the U and finally ended with ice cream at Dee's with the swing club. After that we talked for awhile and decided that we wanted to try it out. (going out boyfriend/girlfriend) He's a little older, 30 he'll be 31 on August 2, but I don't mind. My birthday is in November and I'll be 25 so it's not really that big of an age gap. It's only 6 years. That's kind of like my parents except for my mom is older than my dad.

Know what's cool? I had my first kiss with him since I've come home from my mission, after my ex of course... What a good day to have a first kiss after that. (Independence Day. I'm celebrating my freedom from my ex.) I'm way excited and feel like I'm in high school again! :) Anyway, life is good.

I'm way happy. :) He is tall dark and handsome! Seriously, he has dark hair and blue eyes. He's 6"4 and goes to the gym three times a week. So, he has some muscles too. ;) He's not really the type of guy that I have gone for in the past. So, I was a little nervous about dating him. He loves hanging out with me though. I've seen him every day since the 3rd, even if it's just for a couple of hours!

He went to school at SLCC and got an Associates degree in General Studies and after that decided to get some work experience in. He works at Sam's Club and likes his job. His philosophy is "work hard, play hard." He went on a mission to Canada. He likes going to the temple. He opens my door, which is always a plus. I'm still getting to know him so I don't know "everything" about him yet, but he's a pretty good guy, if I do say so myself.

He has 14 brothers and sisters! (His dad was married to one woman who had 9 kids and then she passed away and he married Brent's mom who had 5 more kids with him.) Brent is number 12 of the kids. His oldest brother is almost my mom's age! lol! That's kind of crazy to me.

Independence day was awesome! We went to dinner at Cafe Rio. Then we went to the Sandy Promenade to walk around. My aunt Terry has a snow cone and cotton candy stand so we went to say hi to them. She gave us free snow cones. :) Then we went to find a place on the grass to hear the band play and watch the fireworks show. I had forgotten how fun life can be when you have someone to share it with. I love that. We kissed and watched the fireworks. Yes, it was really romantic. :) I love being in love! (especially with a guy who's not crazy! lol!)

Ahh, Love. There is nothing better!

So, this is my boyfriend Brent as of the 4th of July. :) He's amazing and nothing like any of the guys I have previously dated, which is always good right? I think so. Anyway, we have seen each other every day since we started going out. Ahh, *sigh* I love being in love in the summer. I think that will all change in the fall when my school schedule gets more hours and I'm working. :( but we can do it. :) After all, we are planning on getting married next summer. (Probably in May. It was going to be in June, but we changed it.) We are thinking the 22 or the 29 both are Fridays. I'm thinking more of the 22, because it just sounds cooler. I don't know why. It just does. All I can say is I can't believe God made a guy as an almost "custom made to my order" of what I was looking for/wanted in a guy. It kind of shocked me to be completely honest. I was like you can't be serious, and yet he was. I love all of his cute little quirks. I love how he calls me every day just to see how my day is going. He wants me to be happy and I am soo happy with him. I can't wait! So, put it on your calendars for next year. Don't worry though, we'll send out invites, but just giving everyone a heads up. I'm so excited! :) We are taking it slow, but the anticipation is killing me! lol! We can do it. I believe in us. He wants to get a promotion at work and I'm working on getting school done with and moving on to a good job. I hope it all works out. I'm sure it will. The Lord helped us to find each other in the most crazy way, so I'm sure he has a sense of humor as well. (We met through a blind date that I was on. He actually asked for my number from his friend who was my blind date.)

Welcome to my first LiveJournal.com Entry!

Hello to everyone reading my first journal entry here!

So, I was told that I should come here to play and find some of my long lost high school friends. Oh where, oh where are my long lost high school friends? Oh where, oh where can they be? I don't know how this works yet. Man, I just got a myspace account and have started to learn how that works, and now here's another thing that I have to explore. (It's a good thing that I like adventures!) Facebook is really easy, but then again, I had to get used to that too. So, here I am writing my first journal entry and wondering how much I'm going to use this. We'll see how it goes. I've been known to start journals, a lot of journals... I don't think that I've ever really finished one. Ok maybe once in middle school, but that was a really small journal so it was easy to fill it up so fast. The rest of my journals, however, well... like I said, I'm good at starting them! Hey, at least I'm honest! lol! Well, I'm off to explore some more. Tell people to be my friend if you know that I know them and they are on here. :)

See ya!

~Tiffany A. Garner~
